The series is inspired by two intersecting images. The first is the marine environment, which defines the flexible forms of the ceramic pieces with their smooth, flowing lines, as well as the subdued white and blue floral palette, alluding to water, light, and the horizon.
The second source of inspiration is the folklore craft toys of the Northern peoples, linked to the artist's childhood memories. These objects, often made of wood and decorated with hand-painted or carved ornaments, are reflected in the decorative elements of the ceramics: the rhythmic forms, the ornamentation, and the tactile expressiveness of the surface.
The vase exists on the border between utilitarian and artistic objects, a union of natural organics and the memory of traditional crafts.
