Wall sculpture- Pearl Mask

Ceramic wall sculpture from the Crying Flowers series.
The work exists at the intersection of a white flower bud, a human face, and a mask. A face emerges from the flower-like form, creating an ambiguous transition between botanical and anatomical elements. The mask-like quality of the face introduces a sense of transformation while preserving recognizable features.

Hand-built in clay, the sculpture is finished with layers of expressive light-toned glazes that create subtle transitions of white and pearl, emphasizing the relief and tactile surface. Details are executed using sgraffito, a ceramic decoration technique in which the surface of moist clay is scratched to create lines and reveal the layer beneath.

Black eyes and two raised black drops forming tears contrast sharply with the luminous pearl surface, becoming focal elements of the composition.
