This hand-painted ceramic sculptural vase is created using a modeling technique, using clay cords that build up the volume in stages. The sculpture's aesthetic gravitates toward biomorphic, natural forms—smooth, streamlined silhouettes inspired by the living structures of the plant world.
As with most of the artist's works, the decoration employs a botanical motif: the painting is based on observation of the diversity of plant forms, their lines, rhythms, and textures. The surface is decorated with underglaze paints followed by scratching using the sgraffito technique, creating a complex graphic pattern and emphasizing the depth of the image.
