The Red Bear and the Mouse

Watercolor; gouache on Paper

The composition is inspired by the folklore and fairy tales of the northern peoples. At the center is a red bear and a mouse picking flowers. Their images are symbolic: the large bear is associated with strength, maturity, and protection, while the small mouse symbolizes fragility, attentiveness, and hard work. Together, they evoke the interplay of different personalities in the human world—the strong and the vulnerable, the leader and the observer.

The contrast in scale emphasizes harmony and complementarity, while the bear's red color adds expressiveness and echoes traditional northern decorative culture. The work conveys a sense of unity and trust, where differences become the basis for coexistence.
